Responsibilities And Duties

As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Business Development Representative. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.

Using internal and external resources for lead generation to search, locate and develop new customers within the established territory. Identify potential new accounts through various channels including cold calling, emailing, company provided lead lists and other outreach methods. Conduct regular face to face meetings to establish strong relationships within the assigned territory. Communicate effectively about RMP-Midwest’s products, services and value. Represent RMP-Midwest at various external industry shows and events. Work with the Sales Manager to develop and support action plans to penetrate new and existing markets. Collaborate with the RMP marketing group to develop and implement specific marketing campaigns for RMP-Midwest. Utilize ZohoCRM to log all commercial activities. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes. Contribute to a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement. Communicate effectively with co-workers, customers and management. Adhere to all RMP’s safety rules, regulations, and quality standards. Adhere to all RMP’s handbook policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in a relevant field Three or more years of experience in the steel industry Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint Valid State Driver’s License; safe driving record Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills Ability to effectively multi-task and work independently on assigned tasks. Excellent attention to detail and ability to transfer data accurately. Ability to analyze, track, and maintain accountabilities. Strong work ethic; self-motivated Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on Sales, Marketing or Business Management One or more years of knowledge in steel applications
