We have an opportunity for a Senior Manager to lead our Edge Software Engineering team in our Apex, NC facility. You will work closely with our IoT director, best-in-class business unit and segment cross-functional teams including product management, innovation, sales, marketing, supply chain and manufacturing.
You will:
- Lead the team in the development and maintenance of software and firmware specifically focused on swimming pool equipment.
- Contribute/participate in reviews of resource plans, functional specifications, technical designs, qualification plans.
- Manage the project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time delivery of products.
- Investigates system and process related problems, recommends, and implements corrective actions.
- Collaborate and work with cross-functional team members to turn requirements into prototypes, technical designs, and implementation plans.
- Championing and leading the team through SAFe agile methodology.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- Build succession plans for all critical roles on the team.
- Ability to think strategically and tactically and to build consensus to ensure program success.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or related field, master's degree preferred; MBA is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience with connected smart products and platforms
- 5+ years of progressive and relevant software leadership experience
- 5+ years of experience with stage gate and agile development processes is preferred.
- Tech savvy, detail oriented, and highly driven.
- Proven experience leading distributed teams across different time zones.
- Experience managing teams of 8-10 with measurable team success.
- Previous experience coordinating activities between hardware, firmware, and software products.
