The Opportunity:
A well-designed secure network is critical to moving data and enabling the DoD to achieve its mission, but how can an organization make sure its network will fit its evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and
sof tware, requires a combination of te chn ical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, a network security engineer, who knows how to craft the exact network the DoD needs. As a network security engineer on our team, you'll work with the DoD to develop a reliable, secure network to support critical missions.
You'll collaborate with SMEs, customers, vendors, and users to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. You'll then share your expertise during the planning of the acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network components. From resolving interoperability issues across platforms to supporting hardware acquisition, you'll put your hardware and
sof tware talents to good use. This is your chance to share your experience with backbone networks, cloud te chn ologies, and core networking while broadening your security and network engineering work. You'll dive into challenging hands-on problem-solving, and encounter opportunities to learn new tools and skills. We focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

What You'll Do:
Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, including communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences such as senior management.
Implement infrastructure and cybersecurity controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities, and improved event correlation in large enterprises.
Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas.
Leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.

You Have:
Experience designing, deploying, and providing advanced support of multi-protocol IP backbone and access networks
Experience deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network equipment and solutions, including VMWare, Cisco, Palo Alto, Dell, HPE, or Juniper
Experience operating, deploying, or administering Linux or UNIX systems and VMWare
Ability to plan, develop, and perform lab performance, and functional and integration testing
Ability to provide on-call Tier 3 operational support for emerging networks
Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within 6 months of hire
Nice If You Have:
Experience with security, routing, and switching protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS,IPsec, STP, or L3VPNs
Experience with STIGing or security hardening of systems
Experience with NESSUS, ACAS, or security analysis tools
Experience with classified networks
CCNA, CCNP, VMWare, Linux, JN CIA , or JNCP Certification
Security+ Certification
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
