Job Title: Senior Equipment Engineer - Nanofabrication

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Equipment Engineer to join our team at the Center for Nanoscale Systems (CNS) at Harvard University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in equipment maintenance, tool capability enhancement, and troubleshooting for a diverse range of state-of-the-art fabrication equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise in equipment maintenance, tool capability enhancement, and troubleshooting for a diverse range of state-of-the-art fabrication equipment.
  • Work with CNS staff and critical core users to design, implement, and perform a successful preventative maintenance program to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Conduct user training, particularly in the areas of thin film deposition, and prepare training materials, including SOPs and related documents.
  • Coordinate and interface with equipment vendors for tool inspection, repair, PM, and monitoring service contracts.
  • Participate in special user research projects to evaluate, design, expand, and maintain equipment capability and process recipes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field and a minimum of three years' relevant work experience; or a minimum of seven years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well in teams and collaborate with other CNS personnel.
  • Strong technical expertise in equipment maintenance, tool capability enhancement, and troubleshooting, with a focus on physical vapor deposition (PVD) and related nanofabrication tools.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, with exposure to compressed gases, acids, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other chemicals.
