Autism Society of North Carolina is currently hiring for a full-time Autism Services Coordinator (Qualified Professional) to assist adult individuals with autism in reaching their personal goals in the Triad area. Position Summary

The Autism Services Coordinator is a Qualified Professional in the field of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities who oversees individualized services for an assigned caseload of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Services may occur in home, community, and/or program settings. The coordinator is responsible for developing treatment plans for service recipients, coordinating service provision, and supervising the Autism Support Professionals who provide direct support. The coordinator collaborates with Care Team members and all relevant parties and monitors service delivery to ensure that the services address the identified needs and adhere to regulatory and qualitative expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Determines the support needs of individuals with autism based on direct observation, review of assessments, availability of resources and natural supports, and collaboration with the team.
  • Develops service plans for each individual to address identified support needs through available services.
  • Analyzes each individual's developmental needs and develops goal targets for skill acquisition and strategies to support the individual in achieving them.
  • Oversees the ongoing review, renewal/revision, and reauthorization of services as needed to maintain services without disrupting recipients.
  • Provides ongoing oversight, support, and training to direct care providers to ensure that services are implemented as indicated on the treatment plan and aligned with the scope of the authorized service.
  • Trains direct support staff on effective individualized strategies to teach and support individuals with autism in keeping with best practices.
  • Provides training and oversight of the direct care staff documentation of service delivery to ensure that it is completed in accordance with all applicable regulations.
  • Documents contact and supervision with all service recipients and staff within the assigned caseload.
  • Collaborates with the Staffing Specialists in the recruitment of direct support staff and assignment of staff to work with individuals whose needs correlate with staff capabilities.
  • Oversees the scheduling of services and staffing assignments in accordance with service authorizations.
  • Develops, enhances, and applies working knowledge of North Carolina's system of services for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, including the Innovations Waiver, Medicaid, and other state and local funding streams.
  • Implements internal and external policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable policies and regulatory requirements under the oversight of Quality Management and Leadership.
  • Ensures adherence to processes, procedures, and time frames within the revenue cycle, from intake to reimbursement for services rendered.
  • Utilizes internal systems, including payroll, electronic health records, and online training platforms to ensure operational integrity and efficiency in service delivery.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources regarding all elements of performance management.
  • Coordinates with Accounting staff to ensure timely payroll and billing processes for staff supervised by the Autism Services Coordinator.
  • Participates in professional development and company-sponsored activities including but not limited to staff meetings, staff in-service or training, conferences, fundraisers, and other community events as assigned.
  • Engages in self-directed learning to stay abreast of changes within state service delivery system and remain fluent in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Ensures that all services are provided with a commitment to CQL's basic assurances of health, safety, and work to meet the personal outcomes of individuals we support.

REQUIREMENTS FOR AN AUTISM SERVICES COORDINATOR:
  • NC State QP qualified: Bachelors degree in the field of human services with 2 years of experience in providing 24 hour services for individuals with I/DD, or Masters Degree in field of experience, and at least 1 year of experience with services for individuals with I/DD.
  • Valid drivers license, a safe driving record and an acceptable level of automobile liability insurance.
  • Ability to pass background check
