Sales Account Manager

This position reports to the Sales Manager then Vice President (VP) of Sales and is responsible to be the main liaison between Batesville Tool & Die, Inc (BTD (Batesville Tool & Die,)) & the Customer. This position will provide Technical Representation to the customer as well as support all BT&D (Batesville Tool & Die,) (Batesville Tool & Die,) departments with customer issues and to promote the wellbeing of BT&D. The Account Manager will be responsible for multi-million-dollar accounts and will be tasked to grow the account annually in a healthy and manageable manner.

Minimum level of education / training required/certificates/licenses:
This position requires a High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
Minimum experience required: This position must have Excel, Plex, PowerPoint, Word, Email, & Internet experience. Must have knowledge of blueprint/Geometric, Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)), technical knowledge and terms of tools, knowledge of BTD manufacturing processes and parts. Computer Aided Design (CAD) is a benefit.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Must be able to travel with short notice domestically and internationally and support various customer activity as required.
- Must be able to plan and schedule meetings internally & externally for BTD & Customer items and visits.
- Professionally presents him or herself at the Customer's facilities and follow all Customer regulations while in their facilities.
- Effectively supports Customer Purchasing, Accounting, Engineering and Quality Departments on all business issues between both companies.
- Effectively supports BTD Departments for internal efforts and issues with Launch, Accounting, Customer Service and Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing.
- Effectively supports BTD Departments with Customer issues/needs in various written forms, letters, memos, email, excel files and PowerPoint presentations.
- Support Customer Purchasing on contents of quotes and provide feedback to BTD on the competitiveness of the quotes.
- Communicate customer programs, events & necessary information with the respective personnel & departments within BTD.
- Provide support toward resolution of production discrepancies as they apply to manufacturing concepts/capability, print specifications & Gaging techniques.
- Support all engineering, part design and part development requirements initiated internally or by the customer.
- Based on company needs, a flexible work schedule and/or overtime are needed.
- Document meeting highlights, agreements, open issues and follow up requirements from phone calls, video conferences and visits with the customer for future reference. Keep customer contact list for key positions, special projects, all communication, and follow-up items updated. Information must be available to management and entered our CRM.
- Help make recommendations on department Goals and Objectives that align with the Corporate Goals and Objectives and department capital expenditures, labor, and expense accounts as it pertains to their job function. With this, it must be knowledgeable to explain any details as needed during review of goals, objectives and expenditures.
- Provides leadership to the department staff under them and/or to all that you work with throughout the company. Thoroughly gives direction, plans work, assigns associates to tasks, assists others in their work, defines the work to be performed, and determines techniques to be used.
- Professionally establishes a teamwork attitude and environment. Works well with all departments, able and willing to cooperate, listen, and help others support the staff of one's own department and companywide. Creates a positive work atmosphere showing support for each other. Thoroughly communicates within one's department as well as throughout the company. Successfully uses collaboration to achieve the best results.
- Has excellent conduct and exhibits this by one self's professionalism; respectfulness of others; efficient use of one's time, prompt to work and on assignments; uses organizational skills to excel; adheres to company policy as an example setter; represents the company in a positive image in the workplace and the community.
- Delivers an adequate training program for the department(s) responsible for, with the department Group Leaders' help.
- Accurately creates, implements, and keeps up to date all Technical Specifications (TS) and/or International Organization for Standardization (ISO) processes, procedures, and forms for assigned area(s) and/or responsibilities. Once established, communicates these processes, procedures, and forms via training to all necessary personnel within the department(s) and/or the company as per the standards.
- Successfully serve and actively participate in committees either as a volunteer or as directed by the company.
- Being cost conscientious with decisions in not only workforce and/or labor costs, material and supplies purchasing, etc. but also by submitting suggestions, doing research, and implementing cost saving ideas. Ensure you and your staff are at optimum efficiency in all operations and/or tasks maximizing the company's profits. After implementation, continue to monitor and oversee the project for continual success and if necessary, take corrective action to sustain or meet the objective(s).
- Adequately develop and support mechanism(s) to adhere to the company operations metrics to maintain the five key measures of safety, quality, delivery, performance, and involvement (S, Q, D, P, I).
- Proficiently performs the following various Human Resources (HR) related events of an employee: the evaluations for wage and performance; recommends promotions or other changes in associates' status; hiring; firing; discipline, etc. Communicates and/or serves as person to deliver any of the above to the associate
- Prepares & recommends job descriptions for each position under their own position, being thorough in this duty.
- Competently makes recommendations, assists in development, and adheres to the company policies, issues, and changes. Adequately updates and communicates company policies, issues, or changes to all staff.
- Competently has a working knowledge and understanding of related job duties and related equipment within the department. Makes the daily decisions required to make efficient use of the workforce they supervise and/or manage; sets achievable and realistic day-to-day deadlines with their department such as overtime and weekend scheduling.
- In the temporary absence of the department manager, competently has the capabilities and willingness to make timely decisions regarding the department and/or projects assigned.
