When you join Cleveland Clinic, you'll be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare.Responsibilities:Patient and Equipment TransportationTransports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair, stretcher or beds as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips and special equipment.Transfers patients to or from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers, with assistance.Transports patients during discharge to hospital lobby and opens doors.Ensures proper oxygen levels in tanks before transporting patient.Approaches and offers assistance to patients and visitors in the hospital municates to nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians or reception regarding patient's arrival and departure.Verifies and confirms standard precautions and correct patient identification by comparing information from pager and patient wristband to obtain correct medical chart and verify proper mode of transportation.Disinfects and maintains equipment throughout the hospital. Performs environmental and safety checks then documents findings.Identifies malfunctioning ambulatory equipment and reports it to the appropriate department for repair or replacement.Moves and delivers equipment and linen carts to the appropriate staging area and depots.Environmental Services Area CleanerCleans patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas.Stocks paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms and restroom as necessary.Follows scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.Follows and adheres to all hospital wide and departmental safety requirements.Textile AssociateCollects, stocks and distributes clean or soiled linens.Performs daily inventory to ensure clean linen and scrubs are accurately stocked for distribution.Identifies items for replacement.Assists with fitting of new uniforms. Issues lab coats and uniforms to authorized users.Sorts and inspects uniforms returned from offsite laundry for quality.Delivers lab coats and uniforms to staff physicians locker rooms or coat closets.Assembles various linen packs for use in Surgery and other departmentsEducation:High School Diploma or GEDCertifications:None requiredComplexity of Work:Requires organizational, decisive judgment, problem solving, communications, good customer service skills and the ability toWork with minimal supervision.Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions as needed.Work Experience:After selection and placement, requires three months on-the-job training and orientation to learn multiple hospital and clinic locations, special procedures and patient emergency and safety procedures, proper body mechanics necessary to safely move patients.Physical Requirements:Requires full range of body motion including handling of patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination.Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range.Requires working with some exposure to communicable disease.Heavy work-exerting 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
