Position Summary

The Financial Analyst is an essential member of the team responsible for the overall fiscal health of programs. The Financial Analyst enters data, creates reports, and provides critical financial analysis. The Financial Analyst is responsible for close collaboration with Program Managers and providing support to managers learning the financial management side.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Analyze cost and production data to communicate results to Program Managers and Executive Team

Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses

Develop, review, and track all program budget information ensuring contract compliance

Prepare and process adjusting journal entries when necessary

Create templates and spreadsheets to facilitate data collection and accurate data presentation

Produce monthly contract reimbursement claims for submission to contract authority for payment of contract funds

Ensure fiscal audit compliance and assist in the preparation of audit responses

Respond to fiscal questions from Program Managers and Executive Team

Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data

Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve financial reporting

Provide financial training and support to Program Managers to enhance their understanding of financial management principles

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Minimum of 3 years of financial analysis and/or accounting experience

Advanced MS Excel skills

Basic knowledge of Accounting Information Systems; especially Great Plains

Basic knowledge of Quickbooks

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Fundamental knowledge of GAAP and the main elements and drivers of the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows
