Sourcing and Logistics Specialist - North Kingstown

General Summary:

Our Rhode Island site is looking for a motivated and hardworking Sourcing and Logistics Specialist. The Sourcing and Logistics specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the supply chain. Their responsibilities include fulfilling site sourcing requirements for equipment production, field service and site service while optimizing this role and transitioning to a new ERP system. Additionally, this role will be analyzing and optimizing chemical logistics and supply chain. An attention to detail, ability to coordinate with different departments and stakeholders and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously is a valuable asset to the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Logistics Services Management:

  • Track monthly logistics costs and report to business leadership.
  • Managing the receiving process for packaging and raw materials.
  • Railcar tracking to assure tollers get railcar inventory restocks in a timely manner and railcars are turned around promptly for redeployment.
  • Assist to manage order control (as applicable).
  • Manage the truck logistics to tollers as needed.
HSSE / Responsible Care:
  • Promote HSSE & RC policies, procedures, activities, practices and attitudes to promote a performance culture where the goal of preventing all recordable injuries and environmental incidents is embraced.
Supply Planning:
  • Work with chlorite customer service team to schedule new incoming customer orders. Complete daily updates of Supply Planning file. Communicate any scheduling adjustments with supply location. Track rail movements (outbound and return) to ensure efficient fleet management.
  • Analyze supply chain to optimize efficiency and reduce overall cost.
  • Recommend and evaluate potential tollers and tolling locations.
  • Analyze, determine and implement optimized storage capacity at tollers and optimal transportation mode from manufacturers to tollers.
  • Analyze equipment standardization to optimize supply chain efficiency.
Sourcing and Logistics:
  • Negotiate and maintain contracts, pricing, delivery terms and relationships with suppliers.
  • Execute, review and release purchase orders as required.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure parts are available for production and service.
  • Identify obsolete inventory.
What You'll Bring to This Role:
  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Procurement or other related fields
  • 2-3 years' experience in Supply Chain Modelling and Optimization, Parts Procurement, Inventory Optimization within the Transportation and Logistics.
  • Background in Chemical Industry is an asset.
  • Training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods is an asset
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • You are a team player and can manage priorities effectively
Salary Range: 75k-90k
