As a Product Quality Engineer at Boston Dynamics, you will join our Operations team to ensure our customers receive robots that are made to the highest standards. Every day, you will work alongside our Supply Quality Engineers, Product/Design Engineers and Operations team to ensure that our products meet or exceed quality expectations. You will be responsible for helping to determine the production standards for our products by establishing quality control systems and setting product requirement rules. We will also look for you to address any quality issues that may arise and properly route them at every and any stage during production. To be successful in this role, you must be inquisitive and thrive on solving problems, have excellent communication skills and be willing to take on an ever-changing list of tasks and responsibilities. Boston Dynamics is a world leader in mobile robots, tackling some of the toughest robotics challenges. Now we are quickly becoming a recognized leader in automation solutions for industrial applications and warehouse logistics. Day to day activities: Address product quality during all stages of production and field including: production and final acceptance test stage, and field quality issues and take appropriate measures when issues ariseCollaborate with Product Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers, Test Engineers and the Operations Team to ensure that quality standards are metImplement methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products and production equipmentEnsure processes implemented adhere to quality requirementsWork alongside our Supply Quality Engineers when external corrective actions for quality need to be addressedProvide an effective interface with customers to ensure consistent quality service and ensure that product returns and non-conforming product are appropriately managedIdentify, lead and report on improvement opportunities as determined through trends and data analysisProvide management of the MRB process to ensure effective root cause/corrective action and prompt and accurate disposition for out of spec materialLead the introduction of ECOs and other process changes on the manufacturing floor to ensure appropriate implementation and inventory dispositionProvide internal process audits and help manage and improve our Quality Management System as neededParticipate in cost reduction and yield improvement initiatives.Desired skills:Bachelor's Degree in EngineeringAt least 8 + years of previous relative work experience in a manufacturing or supplier quality function in an ISO 9001 environmentExperience manufacturing a wide range of components including precision machined parts, castings, injection molded plastic parts and electronicsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and convert them into the quality control plansAbility to execute product qualificationsExperience understanding product issues and how to adequately get them resolvedExcellent reporting, troubleshooting, and communication skillsExperience with creating and approving change orders associated with product, procedures and BOMs.Experience with reliability methods.We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States.
