Join our team and start your journey today Machine Set Up Operator DescriptionResponsible for set up, edit, and run programs for conventional, special purpose and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate parts to production and quality standards in an ISO9001 environment.ResponsibilitiesSelect, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapersStudy blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirementsCalculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth/angle of cut or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control mediaDevelop programs and work cross functionally between machining centersStart and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as requiredVerify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications.Diagnose issues and troubleshoot problems by conferring with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others on solutionsInitiate process improvements and corresponding documentationTrain operators on new processesComply with all OSHA standards, safety regulations and company processes and proceduresPromote and maintain open communication and safety throughout the facilityRequirementsStrong math skills.Solid communication skills.Proactive problem solver, willing to learn and accept new challengesMust be at least 18 years of age.Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat and/or walk for extended periods of time.Ability to read and understand job instructions.Ability to work overtime when needed.Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.WHY COPELAND?
