This is a phenomenal way to showcase who you are and why you want to work for us, plus we have the ability to share it with the leaders directly Responsibilities/Job Description The Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for the clerical activities on the unit assigned. These include but are not limited to the following: * Answering phones * Maintenance and regular use of unit communication systems * Coordination of communication between unit based staff, physicians, and other departments * Answering patient call lights to assist with basic needs and to assist in providing a good experience for our patients * Maintenance of the patients' medical records / transcription of medical orders Qualifications Required Qualifications * 1 year administrative or customer service experience * Strong computer skills Preferred Qualifications * 2+ years administrative or customer service experience * Previous health, pharmacy or hospitality industry experience * Completion of HUC training program or demonstrated HUC experience of 1-2 years, if HUC Vo-Tech has not been completed * Understanding of medical terminology Desired Skills * Excellent communication skills (verbal, telephone, and written) * Experience and knowledge of the electronic medical record EPIC system * Ability to focus and work in an environment of frequent interruptions * Strong organizational skills We believe those that exceed in this role also exhibit these characteristics: High standard of creative prioritization skills and priority setting.
