Description
We're on the lookout for a Payroll Specialist eager to become part of our team at Avelo Airlines, where we're dedicated to fostering a culture centered on execution, simplicity, and unwavering Customer loyalty. Avelo Airlines is an up-and-coming high-value, low-fare airline making strides across the U.S. As a Payroll Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in fostering strong commitment and retention among our Crewmembers through efficient payroll processes and clear communication.
PURPOSE:
The Payroll Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our diverse workforce. This position requires a strong drive for growth and a willingness to excel in a fast-paced and evolving environment. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of experience, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn and grow within our organization.
Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Crewmembers
Play a key role in scaling the Company’s payroll infrastructure, including the development, documentation, and implementation of payroll processes.
Maintain meticulous payroll records and documentation, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and relevant departments, providing insights and analysis as needed.
Collaborate closely with other members of the People department to ensure seamless integration between HRIS and payroll systems, maintaining accurate data.
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting and reconciliation, in collaboration with finance and accounting teams.
Provide exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries and issues, demonstrating a commitment to resolving problems efficiently and effectively.
Proactively engage in continuous learning and development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in payroll administration and aviation industry practices.
Requirements
Proficiency in payroll software/systems (preferably Paylocity) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Drive and willingness to learn and grow within the airline industry.
Strong understanding of payroll regulations, including FAA regulations, IRS guidelines, and state/local tax laws, with a commitment to maintaining compliance.
Demonstrated experience providing analysis from disparate systems and providing concise and meaningful insights from the data.
Highly organized, data-driven self-starter with a demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail.
Collaborative team-oriented approach to helping others at all levels across the company.
Always maintains confidentiality and discretion of crewmember payroll information.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
X-factors
Experience with Paylocity
Experience with the aviation industry
Greater Houston area preferred
May perform other responsibilities, as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technical developments, etc.)
Salary Description
$23-$26 per hour
