Position

We are seeking an Automation Engineer who will be a key member of our automation engineering team working closely with other engineers, architects, analysts, and SMEs to enable the firms' automations efforts. Must be able to lead the development, administration and support of automation and low-code tools such as RPA and ServiceNow. The goal of this position is to deliver actionable insight and reduce non-core work that will help teams create value more effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for rapidly developing and supporting custom automations and low-code applications needed by the firm. Agile software engineering skills are crucial to this role, including working as part of a multi-functional agile development team, contributing to UX design, platform development, data engineering, API connections, continuous integration and continuous deployment, manual and automated testing.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Stakeholders to understand business requirements, derive use cases, and identify key challenges.
  • Develop solutions that address all use cases through a customer-centric design thinking approach.
  • Provide solution recommendations to business and product owners with due consideration to customization, configuration, integration, and extensibility, as well as boundaries and constraints.
  • Translate requirements into a logical, economical, and technically practical and sustainable system design.
  • Formulate an implementation plan using structured analysis, outlining the steps required to develop the solution.
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise to design, develop, test, deploy, and monitor the RPA and ServiceNow Platforms as well as similar solutions to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Proactively identify issues, pursue root cause analysis, and independently resolve routine and non-routine problems. Perform diagnostics on all component levels and integrations.
  • Partner with cross-function business and technology teams to ensure high-quality, integrated solutions that provide a positive client experience.
  • Work with peers to design and leverage platform integrations, automations, and other reusable system components and frameworks.
  • Facilitate process improvement by identifying scope for automation, simplification, or better utilization of RPA and ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Participate in platform architecture and software activities, including Proof of Value solutioning.
  • Continually work toward further maturing our low-code automations through governance, monitoring, nurturing, and promoting best practices throughout.
  • Maintain high standards of technical documentation, governance, and standards compliance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of development experience.
  • Knowledge of RPA technologies/platforms.
  • Proficient in SQL, scripting languages such as JavaScript, Object oriented programming (Python, Java, .NET, etc).
  • Demonstrated ability to write efficient, maintainable code, troubleshoot complex issues, and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
  • Must have prior experience in roles requiring troubleshooting, debugging, RCA, performance tuning, and converting high-level or incomplete requirements into comprehensive design. This includes proven expertise in analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated technical documentation, and traceability skills.
  • Knowledge in Agile methodology and story tracking platforms such as Azure DevOps, JIRA or similar platforms.
  • Experience in a related Financial Services business and/or Asset Management strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Snowflake, Azure Graphs, SharePoint and Power BI is a plus.
