The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is responsible for investigating any crime that occurs in a health care facility, including theft, drug diversion, sexual assault and homicide. The unit also investigates elder exploitation, elder abuse and fraud by providers within the Medicaid system. This may include investigations into doctors, dentists, durable medical equipment companies, mental health providers and other Medicaid providers.
The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit Supervising Attorney (Director) is responsible for directing, assigning, and supervising the activities of the MFCU investigative team on investigations and investigative audits of financial records of health care providers, especially health care facilities, for evidence and fraudulent cost reporting for reimbursement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor Degree
- Admission to and maintenance of licensure from the State Bar of Montana
- Two years supervisory experience
- If licensed in another state, must be able to become license to practice law in Montana within one year of hire. Incumbent is responsible for paying fees for MT State Licensure.
- Eligible to be admitted to practice in federal and state courts as needed.
- Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
