Work will be related to both new product development and full-rate production support. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and decision-making authority within the teams they are assigned to.Example equipment and processes that could be covered by this role include: pick and place machines, laser cutting machines, wire-bonding machines, and more.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Primary point-of-contact for knowledge for the process(es) they are assigned toReview and interpret new designs for conformance with the process(es)Researches and solves problems related to the process(es)Identifies, develops, and implements improvements to the fixturing, equipment, etc. to improve timelines, reduce cost, and/or reduce risk of the process(es)Develops a strong knowledge of Nuvotronics' PolyStrata© technology as it relates to the process(es)Provides support to the technicians/operators on the assembly floor, requiring hands-on work and equipment operation during prototype builds, initial process implementation, training technicians/operators, and debuggingDevelops processes in a way that they can be passed on to technicians/operators who have to execute the process to a defined cycle timeCommunicates and escalates technical issues in a clear and timely mannerPerform all work in a professional manner, close engagement and collaboration within the DFM team and Operations departmentMinimum Job Requirements: Four-year college degree in Industrial Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline plus two years of related experience, applicable master's degree without experience, or equivalent work experience. Experience in producibility engineering / design engineering in an electro-mechanical environment desired. Must have a robust understanding of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio and Internet Explorer). Knowledge of one or more engineering CAD software programs is desired. Knowledge of process development, work measurement, and standards such as statistical process controls, schedule and cost performance indicators are a plus. Must have excellent problem solving skills to work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement personnel in cohesive manner to support project requirements. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to successfully work within a team.
