Samuel, Son & Co is currently seeking a skilled and professional Receptionist to join our team at our Baton Rouge, LA location. As a receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our company, providing exceptional customer service to all visitors and callers. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the front desk, answering and directing incoming calls, greeting visitors, and providing administrative support to various departments within the organization. We are looking for an individual who is friendly, organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

SUMMARY & SCOPE: The receptionist will directly report to the General Manager and perform a variety of clerical, recordkeeping and customer service-related tasks to assist with smooth operation of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and direct clients and visitors ensuring they have a positive and professional experience upon arrival.
- Answer phone calls and emails. Direct incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, transferring calls to appropriate individuals or taking accurate messages as needed.
- Provide general administrative support, including typing, filing, photocopying, and scanning documents.
- Manage and maintain the reception area, ensuring it is tidy, presentable, and equipped with necessary supplies.
- Receive and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries promptly and accurately.
- Assist in coordinating and maintaining office supplies inventory, placing orders as required.
- Uphold and adhere to company policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Identify areas of continuous improvement for all duties.
- Assist other department with projects or tasks as needed.
- Participate and complete all required training activities.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment is maintained.
- Complete all other duties as assigned or directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or coursework in office administration or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar customer service role is preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Knowledge of office equipment (e.g., fax machines, printers) and familiarity with basic office procedures.

- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform computer-related tasks.
- Occasionally lift and move boxes or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.

- Office environment with regular use of computers and office equipment.
