POSITION SUMMARY:

The Bass Pro Shops Talent Development team supports the career planning and development of our employees and their long-term success. The Talent Development Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of training, processes, communication, and resources required for our career planning process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop and administer performance appraisal processes, including setting performance standards, goals, and evaluation criteria.
  • Provide training and support to leaders and business partners on performance management tools and best practices.
  • Develop and implement talent planning strategies to ensure a pipeline of qualified candidates for key positions.
  • Conduct talent assessments and partner with business and HR leaders to create development plans for high potential Outfitters.
  • Partner with learning and development to develop, source, and execute talent development programs that provide opportunities for skill and professional development.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities within the organization.
  • Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of performance management and talent development initiatives.
  • Continuously improve programs based on feedback and evaluation results, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches.
  • Serve as a consultant to the business on performance management and talent development needs and solutions.
  • Accountable for the performance/talent management system to enhance program delivery and accessibility.
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in all performance management and talent development activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resource Management, Business, or a related field
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in performance management, talent development, or a related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint), experience in Adobe products, and Workday preferred.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing performance management systems and talent development programs.
  • Strong understanding of performance appraisal processes and tools.
  • Have strong attention to detail, a self-starter with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong eye for visual and professional appeal, imparts creativity to build an engaging communication strategy and resources.
  • Able to manage projects, create effective plans and execute.
  • Demonstrated success engaging and influencing stakeholders.
  • Able to work with others, collaborate effectively, and build relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: listening and communication.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Navigates ambiguity and changing priorities successfully.
