A construction and development firm in Florida is seeking an experienced Accountant from the construction industry to join their growing team as the new Staff Accountant.

Responsibilities:

The Staff Accountant will:

  • Learn and help with the month-end close process
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Construction project setup and maintenance of all jobs with cost codes in accounting system
  • Acquire any missing owner change order documentation from Project teams
  • Check and balance owner billings for accuracy prior to posting
  • Data entry into Software to reflect owner Change Order in Microsoft Access and CMiC validation
  • Reconciliation of change orders; executed vs. posted
  • Prepare Work in Progress (WIP) reporting.Requires an understanding of percent completion revenue recognition
  • Accounts Receivable and cash activity postings
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in construction or related industry
  • Bachelors in Accounting required
  • Construction accounting experience including job costing, WHIP reports, Cash Receipts, and Billing
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and accounting software
Desired Skills:
  • CMIC software experience
