The System Engineer III will support Aircrew Training System (ATS) and Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) programs. This role involves systems engineering, project engineering, subcontractor management, modification design, logistics engineering, and proposal preparation tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze technical requirements and develop specifications and Statements of Work for modifications, updates, improvements, and new ATS/CLS program components.
  • Review and edit Statements of Work, Specifications, and technical documents prepared or submitted by others.
  • Support program management and logistics functions through analyses and trade studies.
  • Prepare cost estimates and technical text for ATS, CLS proposals, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Advance Change Study Notices (ACSNs), Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), and New Business proposals.
  • Conduct technical design reviews and audits of subcontractors/vendors. May direct subcontractor personnel or analyze subcontractor performance for progress payments.
  • Participate as a presenter or technical advisor in customer technical interchange meetings, audits, and program reviews.
  • Prepare subcontractor/vendor specifications and Statements of Work for Request for Proposals (RFPs) and subcontracts. Evaluate technical proposals received and prepare recommendations for upper management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or with others without constant direct supervision.
  • Ability to tactfully manage and direct subcontractor personnel.
  • Good judgment and responsibility for accuracy and completeness of work.
  • Ability to accept direction from various managers on different projects.
  • Proficiency in using a computer and relevant software.
  • Solid knowledge of ATS design and logistics engineering concepts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Engineering team leadership or subcontractor project management experience is desired.
Experience:
  • At least eight years of experience in aircrew training systems or flight simulation device support, modification, and updates with military/Department of Defense engineering standards, including specification and configuration management practices.
  • Experience in related Systems Engineering projects with DOD work in life-cycle engineering activities, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, and delivery of hardware and software systems. Experience as an engineering subcontractor is also acceptable.
  • Experience working with customers to gain system acceptance based on requirements.
