Description

DOXA Insurance Holdings is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Corporate Finance department. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in U.S. GAAP accounting policies and standards, month-end close, financial reporting, and operational accounting. Additional experience with treasury and cash management, premium accounting, and system migrations is preferred. The Accounting Manager will lead and develop a team a of staff and senior accountants supporting multiple subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

•Operational Accounting: Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including cash application, accounts receivable, accounts payable, processing of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.

•Treasury and Banking: Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury operations to ensure liquidity and financial stability. Oversee the operating and fiduciary cash accounts reconciliation process.

•Insurance Accounting: Handle accounting functions specific to the insurance industry, such as premium accounting, claims handling , and regulatory reporting.

•Financial Close: Lead the closing process for multiple subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close

•Financial Reporting: Assist in the review of subsidiary and consolidated financial statements to ensure accurate and timely reporting of results to management.

•Audit Support: Assist with and lead financial audits, including document preparation, process documentation, and responding to audit and tax requests.

•Process Improvement: Develop and maintain efficient accounting processes and controls, working closely with satellite locations.

•Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with financial regulations and industry standards, ensuring compliance across all accounting functions.

•Team Management: Lead people related aspects of managing a team of accounting specialists including providing development and guidance, training, and performance feedback.

Qualifications

•Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

•Experience: 7+ years of experience in accounting experience within the insurance field preferred.

•Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting concepts.

•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Proficiency in NetSuite, preferred.

•Excellent organizational, time management, and complex problem-solving skills.

•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

•Strong oral and written communication skills.

•Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining high accuracy.

•Established management and supervisory skills with ability to help plan and manage the workflow of the team, set priorities, and delegate tasks.

Working Location

Hybrid: The job requires reporting to the Fort Wayne, IN office 3-4 days a week, with the option to work remotely the remaining working days.
