Financial Analyst Psych-LPPI-Rsch Full Time 76509BR Job Summary The Financial Analyst is a critical member of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences' (DPBS) Finance Team, providing top tier financial analysis and management to the Department's Education Program. The Analyst will participate in larger dynamic team projects, which will build the experience, understanding, and networking skills for successful career development at UCSF. DPBS seeks to hire an exceptional candidate with the motivation, skills, and experience to make a positive impact and to maintain the Department's high level of excellence. This candidate will have demonstrated performance in fund/programmatic/portfolio management. The Financial Analyst will play an essential role in helping to execute the budgeting cycle and analyzing financial data to support strategic decisions, as well as managing the daily and monthly financial operations. The Analyst will independently deliver foundational, analytical fund management support to DPBS' Education Program and provide critical support for complex budget, financial, and resource analysis. The Analyst will ensure that the Education Program receives efficient and effective financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting in a timely manner. The Financial Analyst will demonstrate strong communication skills when discussing financial data with staff, faculty, and DPBS Leadership. The Analyst will successfully research, interpret, and apply all applicable Departmental, University, and Agency policies and regulations to manage a high volume of transactions with varying degrees of complexity. The Analyst will also effectively communicate the complexities of language around such policies and regulations. This position requires a high degree of ethical and professional standards to manage sensitive matters with tact and sound judgment. This is a hybrid-remote position, which includes a combination of 2 days on-site and 3 days remote work. Department Description The UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is among the nation's foremost resources in the field of child, adolescent, and adult mental health. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum three years of experience or equivalent experience/training. Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal, and reporting principles. Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports. Strong organization and communication skills, independent judgment, and customer service focus across broad and diverse subject areas. Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment. Ability to independently gather required information to organize, and perform financial analysis assignments. Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Ability to function as a member of a team. Ability to manage significant volumes of transactions. Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting. Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
