The role you’ll contribute: The Biomed Tech works under supervision of the professional nurse and the OR Management team to provide technical support for environmental and biomedical issues. Provides patient care support as needed at the level of a Surgical Assistant as supervised by a RN. The Biomed Tech has responsibility for the overall management and maintenance of the surgical environment. Notifies Surgery management team regarding environmental safety issues and needs. Responds to needs for technical support intraoperatively on equipment (i.e.-lasers, video, stealth, etc.). Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The value you’ll bring to the team: · Analyzes trouble with equipment operation, determines cause, makes repairs. Informs surgery management personnel of the need to repair/replacement equipment. Assesses need for repairs/improvements to the environment and submits work orders accurately and completely · Uses judgment in accomplishing routine and emergency repairs in order of urgency and in a timely manner. Performs all preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment within the designated timed schedule · Participates in training of staff on new equipment and /or troubleshooting of equipment · Operates/troubleshoots surgery specific equipment (i.e. Stealth, Lasers, Video Systems, etc.) as needed during procedures · Participates in the preparation of the patient for procedures as directed by the RN. Cooperates as part of the multidisciplinary team by communicating pertinent patient information to the RN and completing assignments.
