Quality Assurance Manager for a new satellite manufacture which will disrupt the existing satellite communications market. Their satellite manufacturing will be producing compact communication satellites (500 Kg - 1000 Kg) for Geostationary orbit (GEO) systems for operation around the world and a range of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite platforms and applications. We are therefore seeking the highest calibre individuals to join their design and manufacturing team. More than just technical competence, we are looking for people with commitment and ambition. Responsibilities The Program, Quality and AIV Manager will be responsible for all aspects regarding the satellite management and administration. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for the production of quality documentation and presentations for all major reviews. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for the management of the major reviews. He/She is responsible for ensuring that all safety and health related practices and procedures are followed during the spacecraft manufacturing processes. He/She is responsible for tracking and maintaining a record of issues arising in the spacecraft manufacturing which could affect the production of the spacecraft. He/She may report directly to Management in cases of critical issues which need to be addressed. He/She is responsible for producing the Quality Assurance Plan and ensuring that any guidelines given within that plan are followed . He/She will liaise with the QA from the subcontractor responsible for the integration and testing during the AIT period. Produce the Spacecraft Quality Assurance Plan Produce presentations and other materials for the major reviews Be responsible for preparations for the major reviews Update and maintain the HW and SW Quality Plans Review, accept and update supplier quality documentation including FMECA, RAMS etc. Ensure that correct standards, processes and procedures are followed including cleanroom practices for cleanliness, ESD etc. Participate to all major review and provide QA inputs Call for and perform MRBs in case of any non-conformance or anomaly identification Maintain and update the non-conformance database, part alerts, anomaly identification and software problem reports Review and accept the Risk Mitigation Plan Perform incoming inspection and acceptance of all delivered equipment Call for and perform quality audits on subcontractors if and when necessary Participate to critical AIV test periods, campaigns and investigations Provide Quality Assurance Reports for critical periods Support the LEOP, commissioning and in-orbit phases with anomaly testing and investigation if necessary Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 10 years professional experience in spacecraft integration and testing with at least 5 years at a quality assurance management level Strong knowledge of spacecraft verification, testing and test systems Strong written and verbal communications skills Strong technical background and proven program history Location and Duration The location for the task is in Melbourne, Florida and some amount of home working is envisaged Some travel may be envisaged, and relocation to Sunnyvale, California for the duration of the AIT activities This task is envisaged for 3 years commencing December 2023, with the possibility for the position to be permanent Candidates must be eligible to work in the US – US Citizens, work permit/greencard holders etc. Security vetting may be applied Employment Offer Opportunity to work with a growing company in the global Defence & Space Sectors Salary $negotiable depending on experience We are looking for someone to start in December 2023 Become a key player in the future of Space and Defence.
