Ellsworth County MedicalCenter is looking for a full-time Patient Financial Counselor. Theideal candidate thrives in a patient-focused, team-based environment, andactively commits to our mission of Improving Lives.

The role of the PatientFinancial Counselor is to ensure each patient has a complete and accuratemedical record, which includes patient demographics, insurance coverage,responsible guarantor, and registration. As a patient advocate, make certainthe patient understands the services they are receiving, their financialresponsibilities for the services provided, and their expectations while at thefacility. Provides financial education to patients to clarify estimated out ofpocket expenses. Demonstrates expert knowledge in understanding patientcharges, insurance reimbursement, medical eligibility, hospital paymentprograms, charity care programs, payment alternatives, and marketplaceinsurance alternatives for patients.

SALARY: Startingat $23/hr

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree inbusiness/accounting or related field preferred.

Higher education relative to Revenue Cycle Management andFinancial Management preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years' experience inhealthcare billing & collections preferred.

Preferred Skills:

    • Excellent skills in organization, prioritization and multi-tasking
    • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
    • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain diverse technical problems in easy-to-understand language
