POSITION OVERVIEW

The People and Culture Generalist position requires a strong background in all HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, talent acquisition, and payroll management. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional capable of developing and implementing HR strategies to support our diverse team at ProGeorgia.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The People and Culture Generalist reports to the Chief People and Culture Officer and is responsible for the following:

  • Provides comprehensive guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding a full range of Human Resources actions with employees.
  • Strong knowledge of company policies and procedures and understands of how to apply them in various situations.
  • Manages paperwork for terminations and conducts exit interviews, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Understand various disciplinary processes and administration.
  • Assists in other areas in the Human Resources department, supporting onboarding, LOAs, benefits administration, compensation, and other HR functions as needed.
  • Conducts investigations of sensitive allegations in an empathetic and confidential matter and completes all complaints from end-to-end, adhering to company policies and procedures while assuring confidentiality.
  • Act as a secondary point of contact for company counsel and consults internal partners across all levels of the organization
  • Updates, reviews, and adds to HR Policy Manuals as needed.
  • Manage functional operations and procedures and monitor to ensure timely and efficient workflow, including but not limited to executing all HR procedures, programs, compliance, policies, company records, and vendors.
  • Develop trainings and presentations that will be presented to the staff.
  • Led and coordinated employee events to promote employee engagement and the organizations culture.
  • Thorough understanding of FLSA requirements and upcoming changes effective January 2025.
  • Oversee the full cycle recruiting process, from sourcing and screening candidates to conducting interviews and extending offers.
  • Coordinate and manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and welcome integration into the organization.
  • Drive cultural initiatives that foster a positive and engaging work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience (typically five years or more) performing Human Resources responsibilities, including conducting confidential investigations, in an HR role.
  • Experience in an HR Generalist role with excellent experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of all general HR functions.
  • Experience using ADP TotalSource Software is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office & Google Suites applications (Docs, Forms, Sheets).
  • Experience with working with a MacBook is required.
  • Experience in Asana is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in all tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to multitask effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative on projects, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • SHRM Certification is a plus.

Location:

The position is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and the candidate must be able to work a hybrid schedule with some required travel (15%).

Reports to: Chief People and Culture Officer

Compensation: Annual salary up to $75,000 based on experience, plus a competitive benefits package including health and dental insurance, retirement matching, generous paid time off, and paid family leave.
