Overview:

TRC is seeking an Associate Director of Sustainability / Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) to join TRC 's ESG and Climate Advisory consulting team as Associate Director. TRC is a well-recognized and branded advisory services team that is growing with strong key client relationships in corporate strategies, private equity firms, investment banks, and law firms across the globe. The candidate will join other subject matter experts at TRC in executing ESG, Climate Change, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) and Sustainability projects for clients in a wide range of business sectors and private equity firms.

TRC is looking for a self-motivated individual who is enthusiastic about their work with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. While this individual will have opportunities to directly manage and execute projects, the successful applicant must also enjoy the day-to-day challenges of program management and business development. As a seller/doer of ESG advisory services, this role would include direct interaction with clients, including proposal development.

This position has hybrid flexibility and report to a nearby TRC office.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage deliverables including Sustainability / ESG reports and materiality assessments.
  • Manage the collection, validation, calculation, and aggregation of ESG data for reporting.
  • Conduct audits of ESG related policies, programs and certificates.
  • Oversee research and peer benchmarking to support strategic planning, goal/target setting to facilitate conversations with stakeholders.
  • Interact with ESG software partners.
  • Oversee CDP climate change, water, and/or forest disclosures.
  • Have deep understanding of ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, UN PRI and TCFD.
  • Develop and propose on ESG and Sustainability offerings for clients.
  • Promote and sell a portfolio of ESG services to current and target clients at multinational corporations and private equity firms.
  • Contribute and enhance our team's current knowledge of ESG.
  • Identify emerging ESG trends and legislation and incorporate them into ESG strategy.
  • Build relationship across TRC sectors and business units to identify ESG/GHG/Sustainability opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal professionals to create ESG content development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 3+ years- experience in an ESG related role.
  • 5-10 years of experience with providing consulting services, preferably working with a consulting/engineering firm.
  • ESG reporting and disclosures with solid understanding of the role of ESG data.
  • Highly organized and results-oriented with validated experience running cross-enterprise reporting processes.
  • Stays up to date with global standards related to socially responsible/ESG investing and reporting including but not limited to UN SDGs, GRI, CDP and SASB.
  • Expertise in building rapport across business units and corporate functions to influence process or policy changes. Understands business drivers and operational processes.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills working with Senior Executives and External Stakeholders.

Compensation: Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
