As part of the Generac Industrial Marketing Team, you will lead and execute the marketing strategy for our company-owned dealers (Energy Systems) to drive growth with existing customers and acquire new customers. In this exciting new role, you will have the opportunity to develop a field marketing playbook that once proven out can be expanded to other dealers. You will also have the opportunity to build out a team to support regional field marketing offices. It will be a requirement to visit regional dealer offices 1-2x per quarter.
Major Responsibilities
- Jumping off from the broader Generac Marketing Strategy, create a specific regional marketing strategy for our company-owned distributors that drives growth among the local electrical and general contractor customers bases
- Be an active member of the Energy Systems Leadership team, supporting business strategy development efforts
- Prioritize, build and execute effective marketing campaigns that generate leads and accelerate them through the funnel
- Track and analyze competitive marketing at a regional level
- Lead and optimize co-op program
- Partner with internal and external marketing agencies to create region-specific content marketing, digital marketing, and PR programs
- Identify and prioritize (or de-prioritize) local sponsorships / events / partnerships
- Get familiar with local incentives and develop programs that leverage those incentives to make it as easy as possible to do business with Generac
- Builds a team and is able to design and direct the work of the functional area. Sets objectives that align with the Generac Industrial Power strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning, and development
- Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered, and performance is systematically improved
- Bachelor's Degree
- Demonstrated success in building local / regional marketing strategies and executing them
- 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, in particular channel marketing
- MBA preferred but not required
- Self-starter with an ability to handle a wide range of projects and work in a fast-paced collaborative environment
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, solve practical problems, and make decisions based on customer insights
- Comfortable interacting frequently with a wide range of sales partners, driving for results when consistent follow-up is required
- Ability to collaborate closely with Enterprise Marketing team, craft professional briefs, and serve as a translator on more technical concepts
- Not afraid to roll up sleeves when required
