Job Responsibility
- Provides leadership to Risk Management team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
- Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
- Collaborating with independent actuary on a regular basis to request and review reports.
- Acts as a liaison with insurance brokers to adjust coverage as necessary.
- Assists the leadership in all facets of insurance procurement and risk management.
- Assesses need and risk versus reward cost analysis, analysis of insurance product and negotiations with broker and carriers.
- Identifies, assesses and weighs risk, working with related corporate departments (i.e. Legal, Finance, Facilities, Procurement, FPP etc.); reviews contracts and designs insurance provisions.
- Reviews project plans to determine time-frame, funding limitations, procedures, participant requirements and allotment of resources to various phases of the project.
- Confers with project participants to outline work plan and assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.
- Manages activities of project participants to ensure project progress on schedule and within budget.
- Collaborates with the leadership on various projects (i.e. ERM, selection of data management the health systems, etc.) and operational oversight insurance companies.
- Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.
Job Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.
