Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in managing departmental responsibilities and maintaining the quality of care.
  • Conduct weekly wound/skin rounds to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents.
  • Collaborate with the nursing staff to ensure effective communication and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Meet the medical needs of all residents, ensuring their dignity and independence are maintained.
  • Coordinate and direct the planning of nursing services, ensuring seamless delivery and high-quality care.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards, ensuring a safe environment for our residents and staff.
  • Review and manage risk-related events, working closely with our risk management team to minimize potential liabilities.
  • Assist in emergency situations, providing support and guidance to our nursing staff as needed.
  • Analyze patient safety incidents, medical errors, and potential risks, working to prevent future occurrences.
  • Collaborate with our legal and risk management teams to investigate and manage claims.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of medical records, maintaining the highest standards of documentation.
  • Assist with the interviewing, hiring, and orienting of new nursing staff, ensuring a smooth transition into our team.
  • Oversee the daily staffing process, ensuring adequate coverage and high-quality care.
  • Maintain a focus on infection control, working to prevent the spread of illness and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Be flexible with your work schedule, adapting to the unpredictable needs of our residents and staff.
Requirements
  • Current State RN license required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Long-Term Care settings.
  • 2 years of management experience preferred.
  • 1 year of staff education experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Evidence of basic leadership skills and supervision.
  • Flexible hours required.
