Are you living your life's work?Summary:The exercise physiologist will perform patient health assessments and evaluate risk factors, develop and revise exercise prescriptions for patients with cardiac disease, monitor patient progress, provide education and document and analyze all aspects of exercise therapy efficacy.Responsibilities:Develop exercise programs to improve participant's strength, flexibility, endurance, or circulatory functioning, in accordance with exercise science standards, regulatory requirements, accreditation, and credentialing requirementsCollaborate with Medical Director and Nurses to create and prescribe individualized exercise programs and modify as neededEvaluate new patients and interpret findings.Assess risk factors that contribute to cardiac diseases and help patient with modification plan to include diabetes management, HTN care, diet, exercise, depression, stress and smoking cessationExplain exercise program, physiological testing procedures and equipment/machines to patientsMonitor BP, heart rate and rhythm, blood glucose during each exercise sessionsCommunicate patient progress to physician(s) including any abnormalities or concerns about patient statusAnalyze exercise program participant data to evaluate progress or identify needed program changesConduct follow up visits and/or telephone calls with participants to monitor progress and compliance with exercise programsPerform continuous education regarding risk factor modification utilizing a holistic approachMaintain accurate records of exercises performedCredentials:Radiologic Technologist (Required) Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required) Certified Personal Trainer (Required) Must obtain appropriate certification within 2 years from date of hireEducation or Equivalent Experience:Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)Education Specialization:Exercise Physiology/Science, Kinesiology or related field by an accredited university or college Equivalent Experience: • And 1+ years Minimum experience in Cardiac Rehab or fitness setting or related field with cardiac testing.Experience includes student internship Master of Arts or ScienceEducation Specialization:Exercise Physiology/Science, Kinesiology or related field by an accredited university or college Equivalent Experience: We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
