SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the Inventory, organization, scheduling of staff, and directing of the warehouse on a day-to-day work plan. Adjusts schedules as necessary in both shipping and receiving areas, responsible for warehouse scratch rates, order accuracy, productivity levels, and facility maintenance. Coordinates warehouse activities under the direction of the Director of Operations, and trains warehouse personnel both exempt and nonexempt, to ensure a well-coordinated shipping and receiving plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Uses empowerment, trust and other strategies as appropriate to develop and motivate team members within the warehouse.
  • Ensures a positive work environment
  • Ensures that company policies and procedures are communicated and followed
  • Communicate expectations, assignments and responsibilities clearly and professionally
  • Resolves employee relations issues immediately and notifies Director of Operations/HR of critical issues
  • Identify performance strengths and needs of Warehouse and communicate to manager and assists with plan to reward and/or correct
  • Observes processes for safety and ensures all are adhering to safety procedures
  • Interviews, Hires and Trains new employees, and provides coaching, feedback and performance reviews to current staff.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow
  • Assign duties and examine work for efficiency
  • Ensure correct shipment of international orders and hazardous material orders
  • Responsible for warehouse scratch rates, directing the inventory control supervisor as to out-of-stocks, receiving errors, selection errors, and warehouse slotting of products.
  • Generates warehouse productivity reports, in regard to selection rates, receiving rates, and accounts for all labor hours, both direct and indirect. Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining objectives and division goals.
  • Keeps maintenance records the warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs. Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions.
  • Ensures that all staff have completed training through the safety program in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.
  • Recommends equipment requirements and replacements to the Plant Manager in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
  • Works with management staff withing the company to support production, inventory, and quality assurance procedures.
Requirements
  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
  • 3+ yrs in warehouse/manufacturing environment
  • 4+ yrs of progressive leadership experience- supervisory to management
  • Read, write and communicate in English
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suites
  • Efficient computer/software user
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • High Diploma or GED required
  • Associates Degree or equivalent preferred
