Optimize and develop vision and controls systems on production equipment and integrate these improvements through the proper validation protocols, lead the development of new technologies and the implementation in current production equipment.

Integrate vision systems into new and existing automation equipment

Optimize the vision systems to reduce false rejects and improve lighting for better image quality, failed images will be captured and used to optimize the overall process and/or modify machine settings and tolerances where applicable, cameras will be added and maintained to improve both product quality and reduce the risk of defective product being produced

Document camera requirements to be specified for new equipment purchased through machine integrators

Qualifications:

Must:

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or any relevant Engineering Discipline from an ABET four-year engineering college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Vision systems or Automation Systems or Motion Control or Industrial Automation

Experience in PLC Programming or can have experience with visual basic and C++

Start-up of high volume production equipment

Plus:

Experience with Cognex Insight and Cognex Vision Pro

Image processing principles (transformation, segmentation, blogs, convolution)

Mechanical and electrical aptitude

Troubleshooting to root cause in a manufacturing environment

Experience with Allen Bradley controls products
