Entry Level Controls Engineer

Description:Automotive manufacturer is looking to add a 2nd shift controls engineer to their team. This company primarily supports GM as their biggest customer at their Lansing site. This position will be a 50% on the floor and 50% in office. Majority of this person's day will be troubleshooting and making modification to their PLC code in Allen Bradley. This person will have to do some re-writes of code and when there is down time will be assigned upgrade projects. A lot of the equipment is 25 years old so they will also be responsible for helping to bring in new equipment and getting it up to speed. This person will be working pretty heavily with Cognex vision systems and making sure they are accurately viewing parts. They will also be responsible for adding buttons to HMIs and making any required modifications to the software to be more operator friendly. Majority of the robots on the floor are Fanuc so experience with that brand would be ideal. This position is on 2nd shift which is 2:30-11pm. When onboarding this person will train on 1st shift with their lead controls engineer. The controls engineer will be on call 2 Saturdays out of the month but can plug in remotely to resolve any issues.Requirements:* Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC troubleshooting and editing experience* Experience with vision systems and HMIs* Fanuc robot troubleshooting experience* Ability to troubleshoot and edit electrical schematic diagramsAdditional Skills & Qualifications:* PLC programming experience from scratch* Electrical Engineering DegreeAbout Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
