**Indirect Material Buyer**

POSITION SUMMARY:

VIA Motors is looking for an experienced Indirect Material Buyer to join our Team. This is your opportunity to join our growing team and be involved at the forefront of electric and hybrid-electric vehicle technology development. This role requires creative expertise in Indirect/CapEx purchasing, with key knowledge in manufacturing equipment, facilities, and support services.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

* Purchasing background in Indirect Purchasing Construction/Manufacturing Engineering support functions:

* Commodity/Category experience specific to industrial maintenance a plus.

* Software experience in predictive maintenance a plus.

* Strong skills in data mining and navigating ERP and WMS applications.

* IT Services and applications.

* Purchasing Buyer role requires flexible, rounded knowledge base for outside services: construction, assembly equipment, material handling & conveyance, testing, waste management, janitorial, rental services, etc.

* The successful candidate should be able to balance the demands of value and cost efficiency with the needs of building positive supplier relationships and being an efficient liaison between the supply base and manufacturing operations, engineering, and maintenance.

* The person in this role should also be able to patiently listen, collaborate, conceive, articulate, and drive ideas that deliver long term savings without compromising safety, timelines or project objectives.

* They should possess/develop demonstrable, effective skills in negotiating, while relentlessly and effectively representing the interests of the organization, especially as they relate to pricing and timing and quality

* Exercise dedication to strategies, policy and supporting the evolution of both as needed to insure future success of the organization. Also desired is active contribution to team esprit-de-corps by building alignment with fellow associates, suppliers, customers, and other project partners by adhering to purchasing guidelines and work instructions and financial and savings objectives. Purchasing Buyer, as directed by the Purchasing Manager or Director of Purchasing, will need to timely initiate and submit RFQ/RFPs to supply base, in accordance with company policy.

* Manager specific objectives include developing, negotiating, and engaging agreements that allow for equipment validation and run-off and other performance milestones prior to supplier payment. The Buyer shall also include provisions for obtaining and validating equipment spares.

* Lead activities, meetings and problem-solving initiatives and should keep current relevant, proficient knowledge of products, material, systems, and methods related to assigned commodities. The successful candidate should also act as a brand ambassador, and continuously and professionally represent VIA Motors and the purchasing team.

* Be/become subject matter expert and promoter of applicable regulatory governmental compliance requirements and industry operational best-practices related to business operations.

* Work as a procurement professional as part of a Procurement Team, representing the activities with daily interface with internal clients for on-going and upcoming strategic Indirect/CapEx Purchasing activities.

* Coordinate of pricing negotiations, to obtain the most competitive commercial agreement for VIA Motors.

* Navigate companys purchasing applications, such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, sourcing tool for supplier management and competitive bidding processes, etc.

* Present supplier award recommendations to the Purchasing Manager/Director.

* Compile and review system reports, working closely with the respective Managers and/or internal Track and update companys Procurement activity for related Indirect Purchasing reporting, working closely with team members the corresponding suppliers and internal requestors.

* Interface with company supply-base, as required, via proper communication channels, including in-person meetings, conference calls, email, etc.

* Participate in Purchasing Department projects, and other duties, as assigned signed by Indirect Purchasing leadership.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

* Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Engineering preferred or 2-year associate degree with significant related experience.

* Ability to travel as required up to 20% of time.

* Proficient use of MS Office Suite, use of computer/laptop and other standard office machines.

WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD

* Prior automotive industry Capex-Indirect or direct material Purchasing experience preferred.

* Procurement/ISM and/or QS16949-IATF professional accreditation preferred with commensurate purchasing experience (3 5 years) is a plus.
