Job Summary:

Salas O'Brien is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to implement energy consulting and commissioning services for large institutional clients.

Job duties include:

  • Review, analyze and evaluate energy management systems to save energy, reduce energy costs, and improve energy efficiency during the designing, building, or remodeling stages of construction
  • Collect energy efficiency and usage data and identify the areas of high energy consuming sources and develop energy efficient processes in such areas
  • Coordinate with the project management team for overall analysis of energy management system installation and monitor the entire life cycle of the project
  • Provide engineering and technical support to project to ensure that it is completed within regulation and review the technical documentation of existing client systems and machinery to understand their functions and purpose
  • Participate in energy conservation projects to ensure acceptability of budgets and timelines or conformance to federal and state laws
  • Analyze project measurement and verification (M&V) reports, summarize financial performance, and identify potential issues for follow-up, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Master's degree in Energy Engineering, Energy Systems, Energy Management, or a closely related field, or the foreign degree equivalent
  • 3 years' experience in the job offered or any related occupation
  • Experience with functional performance testing on mechanical and HVAC&R systems
  • Experience performing commissioning design drawing and specification reviews
  • Experience troubleshooting facility issues and implementing corrective actions

This is a full-time position. Benefits include a health insurance plan, a 401K profit sharing plan, and PTO. The position offers competitive compensation with an anticipated annual salary range of $120,000 to $130,000, based on candidate experience.
