Our mission is to guarantee that mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related systems are meticulously designed, installed, and functionally tested to align with client specifications and design objectives.
Position Overview:
- The Project Engineer for Commissioning Services operates under the guidance of a team leader, playing a pivotal role in the execution and delivery of our professional services related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and associated systems.
- Key responsibilities encompass managing office tasks, overseeing time and expense reports, validating in-field installations, compiling field observation reports, conducting functional performance tests, attending meetings, documenting processes, performing on-site and factory witness testing, reviewing submittals, and evaluating design documentation.
- Additional duties involve achieving target billable hours, managing tasks within allocated budgets, leading commissioning meetings, aiding the construction team in troubleshooting technical challenges, and fostering positive relationships with clients on assigned projects.
- Administrative responsibilities include assisting the team leader in coordinating with other project engineers and senior project engineers for weekly staff scheduling, mentoring team members on proper documentation and field procedures, and participating in company-wide safety and training initiatives.
- The candidate must be willing to travel to various job sites within the designated region.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in HVACR, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or a related field, along with relevant construction, maintenance, or engineering controls experience.
- A minimum of 5 years in a staff or intern role related to maintenance, construction, or engineering controls, or at least 1 year in the commissioning industry.
- At least 3 years of experience managing the interconnectivity of building systems, including pumps, fans, motors, air ventilation, chillers, boilers, steam distribution, heat absorption, building automation systems, optimization techniques, electrical distribution, and fire alarm systems.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, bidding processes, and related industry documents.
- Ability to independently solve problems as well as work effectively in a team setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation capabilities.
- Adaptability to various indoor and outdoor working conditions.
- Physical fitness, with the ability to lift at least 30 pounds and climb ladders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Involvement in trade associations.
- Possession of EIT, ACP, CEM, or similar certifications.
- OSHA 10 or other workplace safety certifications.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
Salary range based on experience is $100,000 - $130,000.
