Description

Who is Comprehensive Healthcare?
Comprehensive Healthcare provides innovative behavioral health and integrated healthcare services to clients of all ages. We take pride in our creative and collaborative work environment and in delivering clinically excellent, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services.

What are we looking for in an Advocate?
Advocates are part of our Aspen Victim Services program, which provides supportive services to families and individuals who have experienced sexual assault, family violence, abuse, and other crimes. Advocates support clients as they progress through the medical and legal systems, providing advocacy-based counseling, referrals, and safety planning in a sensitive and supportive manner. Advocates also facilitate group sessions, assist with training & mentoring volunteers, and provide presentations & trainings to community partners. Through the coordination of services in direct support to clients, Advocates also help to improve service delivery by developing relationships between providers within the community. Consultation with law enforcement, medical personnel, prosecuting attorneys, and victim witnesses is part of this position, so a collaborative attitude is a must. Advocates will need to have exceptional communication skills, feel comfortable working with those in crisis, and be committed to encouraging and empowering others. This Advocate position is part of our Aspen program for Yakima County, and will split time between our Yakima office three days per week and our Sunnyside office two days per week. Regular travel within and between these two communities is expected. This role also requires participation in the rotation for after-hours crisis coverage, approximately one evening per week and one weekend per month.

Advocate duties may include:
  • providing medical, legal, and general advocacy, information, referrals, and support for those who have experienced family violence, abuse, assault, or other crimes
  • coordinating with law enforcement, medical personnel, attorneys, victim witnesses, and other providers to offer effective advocacy for the client
  • encouraging individuals to access community resources as appropriate
  • facilitating trainings & presentations for community partners
  • assisting with recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers
  • cleaning the facilities and organizing donations, as applicable
  • assessing clients for safety and risk to self or others, and taking appropriate crisis intervention measures when indicated
  • participating in the rotation for after-hours call coverage
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, gender & women's studies, or related field
  • Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish required
  • Must be able to complete or have already completed the Core Training provided by Aspen
  • Must have valid driver's license, vehicle liability insurance, and a minimum of two years of safe driving experience
What Comprehensive Healthcare Can Offer You
Training and Development
  • A variety of career opportunities in a wide range of settings with room for mobility and promotion
  • Regular training opportunities including support, supervision, and consultation in implementing evidence-based services and programs
Innovative Program & Services
  • A strong reputation for providing quality, evidence-based services within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Innovative, forward-looking leadership that seeks to thrive in an ever-changing healthcare environment
  • Joint Commission-accredited organization committed to continuous quality improvement
  • Established partnerships with major research universities and other community and healthcare providers to implement cutting-edge treatment programs and services
Excellent Benefits
  • Competitive salaries within our communities and industry
  • Healthcare coverage for employee and qualified family members
  • Generous vacation, paid holiday and sick leave policies
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program services
  • Agency-funded retirement plan with contributions equal to 5% of compensation
  • Additional retirement investment opportunities with a 50% investment match of up to 4% of compensation
  • Agency-funded life and disability insurance program
  • Tuition reimbursement program to support employees pursuing additional education
  • Employer-funded student loan repayment assistance
