The Environmental, Health & Safety Supervisor plans, establishes, implements, and maintains a variety of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees at our Boston facility. This leader assures that Catalent complies with applicable federal, state, and local health, safety and environmental laws, regulations, and standards. This is a full-time, salaried position. This role is fully site-based and is Monday - Friday 1st shift. The Boston-area facility is Catalent's global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple commercial-scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging. On-site spray dryers include best-in-class GEA Niro SD1, SD4 and SD7, the latter being the largest CGMP unit of its kind for DPI in North America. Catalent is committed to a Patient First culture through excellence in quality and compliance, and to the safety of every patient, consumer, and Catalent employee. The Role Ensures compliance with Federal and State EHS regulations while following Catalent's guidelines to ensure the safety of all onsite personnel and to minimize impact to the environment. Conducts risk assessments including JSA, Occupational Health Exposure Assessments, ergonomic assessments, noise surveys, API assessments, industrial hygiene assessments, and project reviews to ensure identified risks are properly mitigated. Acts as primary Emergency Coordinator and oversees the site Emergency Response team including Spill Response and First Aid responders. Supervises EHS Department employees and contractors and ensures compliance between department and Catalent EHS Management System. Completes the OSHA 300 log and maintain supporting records. Evaluate cases to decrease the accident rate using safety assessments, industrial hygiene sampling, and following OSHA regulations and Catalent Guidelines. Manages the EHS Accident Investigation program including conducting root cause analysis and identifying corrective actions. All other duties as assigned. The Candidate Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of related experience in EHS or related field required. Experience in a pharmaceutical setting preferred. Experience in a multi-purpose facility (one that includes offices, manufacturing floors, and laboratories) required. Previous experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries preferred.
