Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Occupational Health and Safety to lead our organization's safety and health initiatives.

Job Summary:

The Director of Occupational Health and Safety will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive safety and health program that meets or exceeds regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This includes conducting workplace safety assessments, investigating incidents, and providing training and guidance to employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a safety and health program that meets or exceeds regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct workplace safety assessments and investigations to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on safety and health procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and industry partners to stay up-to-date on safety and health regulations and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain safety and health policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Monitor and report on safety and health metrics and trends.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to employees on safety and health-related matters.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in occupational health and safety, including 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state safety and health regulations, including OSHA and DLS standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:

The Director of Occupational Health and Safety will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The position requires frequent travel to worksites and occasional work in outside weather conditions.
