Position Overview:
In collaboration with the Aquatics Director and Head Lifeguard, contribute to the upkeep of a secure environment, adhering to all safety regulations. Ensure compliance with all aquatic facility guidelines and be well-versed in emergency protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of age-appropriate aquatic activities, including assisting with swimming instruction for diverse age groups.
- Oversee and guide the behavior of participants engaged in programs and services within the aquatic area and throughout the facility as necessary.
- Engage in joint initiatives, events, and excursions with personnel from other program areas, as well as community partners when suitable.
- Participate in assessment activities to evaluate the effectiveness of programs, including contributing to annual member feedback initiatives.
- Ensure the security and organization of materials, equipment, and resources related to the aquatic program. Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Travel between various locations and activities as required.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Aquatics Director.

Position Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Advanced Lifesaving from a recognized organization are mandatory.
- Previous experience as a lifeguard is preferred; at a minimum, experience working with children and youth is required.
- Understanding of youth development principles is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Ability to engage with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Technical Skills:
Microsoft Office: Basic proficiency required.
Educational Background:
Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
