Support and apply the Playbook/Playlist in all areas.- Troubleshoots PLC and HMI programs, instrumentation, and drives on the production lines with an analytical systems-based approach.- Analyzes data to identify where quantifiable improvements will have the most impact in a rapidly changing manufacturing environment and manage those identified improvements at a multi production line, high speed asphalt roofing manufacturing facility.- Identifies gaps in automation deployment and programs and/or works with Plant Systems team to implement improvements in PLC programs.- Facilitates change management and sustainment documentation such as engineering drawings, manuals, troubleshooting guides, process flow diagrams, and spare parts lists.- Performs electrical and controls layouts, updates and creates electrical drawings in CAD or other electrical drawing software.- Works cooperatively with a cross functional team of Engineers, Operations, and Maintenance personnel, understanding the needs of each department's primary focus.- Improves current manufacturing systems and reliability of electrical, controls systems on machinery which is exposed to abrasive materials.- Maintains awareness of new capabilities and technologies as they relate to controls, drives, and web handling. When applicable, lead the implementation and adoption of new technologies.- Flexible and adaptive, able to thrive in a fast-changing environment, implementing solutions rapidly without cutting corners.- Assumes role as project manager for installation of improvement projects: * Write project specifications for vendor bids, including project scope development. * Provide appropriate project justification and cost-benefit analysis as necessary for project proposals. * Coordinate with cross functional teams in the design, planning, installation, and commissioning phases.Job Requirements- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in an engineering field from an accredited university (Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Controls Engineering Preferred) - Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing; 5+ years of experience is preferred. - Extensive background in PLC code development.- Experience with motion control systems using VFDs and Servos (Siemens preferred.)- Electrical distribution troubleshooting and design experience, understanding NEC.- HMI programming experience (Aveva preferred.)- Knowledgeable user of AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft Office.
