**Guest Services Associate**
The Guest Services Associate provides a high-quality and engaging experience for all museum guests, gift shop customers and fellow teammates. Guest Services Associates will participate in a sales culture that will assist the department in meeting annual sales goals including museum admissions, museum store and membership sales with a focus on processing payments accurately and efficiently.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Performs the daily operations of the guest service desk with a focus on customer service, organization and efficiency. Ensures guests are attended to professionally, courteously and promptly and sells admission tickets.
* Adheres to admission and cash handling procedures and balances drawer before and after every shift.
* Greets and orients visitors and self-guided groups.
* Participates in regular training as directed to maintain a working knowledge of the exhibitions and programs offered by the Hunter Museum.
* Balances the welfare of the museum with the expectations of museum visitors; has the ability to communicate with a variety of visitors with diverse interest and abilities to ensure a positive museum experience; and resolves visitor concerns and complaints.
* Encourages and records guest feedback through surveys.
* Works with maintenance department to ensure public spaces (stairs, lobby, coat room, gift shop, restrooms and entry doors) are neat, sanitized, clean and inviting.
* Assists, as directed, in the everyday operations of the museum gift shop including merchandising, pricing, stocking, receiving, ordering, and managing store displays and consignment products.
* Assists with special store promotions such as trunk shows, book signings, holiday promotions and special group promotions.
* Complies with the Hunter Museum standard dress code protocol for Guest Service Associates.
* Participates in all staff meetings and curatorial exhibition walk-throughs and provides administrative support as needed, including assistance with museum fundraising events.
* Understands general museum operations and safety policies.
* Other duties as assigned.
**Key Qualifications**
* Knowledge of guest service principles, practices and procedures
* Ability to implement effective initiatives and strategies to ensure consistent excellent guest services in all areas of the Hunter
* Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills
* Retail sales experience preferred
* Knowledge of Point of Sale cash register procedures
* Strong technological skills, including familiarity with database systems and phone applications
* College Degree preferred with course work in business, marketing, sales, and/or art history preferred. Related customer service work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
**Part-time,** **hourly;** Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays .
