Senior Accountant

A leading global nonprofit working in promoting disability inclusion is seeking a Senior Accountant for a fully remote position. The Senior Accountant will perform all day to day accounting functions for the organization under the leadership of the Chief Financial Officer, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and month-end close. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, efficient worker, and team player.
The role is fully remote
with occasional travel 1-2 times per year and occasional night/weekend work. They offer competitive benefits

Salary : $70-100K
What You'll Do:
Records all bills in NetSuite.Records ACH, wire, and check payments received against invoices and otherwise.Records and reconciles credit card payments processed through Square, Stripe, and Swoogo.Works with Finance & Operations Manager on collections efforts.Maintains and analyzes general ledger accounts and classes for proper coding.Processes posting of monthly journal entries.Reconciles accounts receivable, accounts payable, deferred revenue, and bank and credit card accounts.Analyzes and reconciles discrepancies and accounting issues, as identified.Maintains financial reports, records, and general ledgers for consistent bookkeeping and budgetary analysis.Works with Director of People & Culture to ensure compliance with state payroll requirements.Follows, and documents financial processes adherence to, internal controls.Aids in the implementation of new accounting policies and guidelines.Collaborates with auditors and tax preparers to timely provide requested information.Assists CFO in preparation of annual budget.Identifies opportunities for efficiencies provided by new technologies that leverage artificial intelligence.Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.CPA preferred.5-7 years of experience in an accounting role.Big four accounting firm experience is a plus.Familiarity with NetSuite Accounting Software and Revenue Recognition add-on, strongly preferred.Strong working knowledge of GAAP and non-profit best practices, preferably within a non-profit organization.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work respectfully with a diverse group of people.Proven ability to prioritize tasks, confidence to question existing processes and manage multiple deadlines.Experience coordinating audit activities.A track record in grant management as it relates to compliance and reporting.Ability to handle information confidentially.Effective communication, both in oral and written forms.Professional composure and the ability to perform in a fast moving environment.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel.Experience working in Salesforce.Experience and comfort using AI, professionally or personally.An interest in, passion for, and commitment to core mission.Willingness to contribute observations and ideas, and deliver foresight about how to best fill gaps and solve problems.A personable and professional demeanor, with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees and consultants.Demonstrated truthfulness, integrity, reliability, and honesty with work time and commitments.High tolerance for ambiguity; must be flexible and comfortable with unstructured time.Driven, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative.A team player who collaborates respectfully and inclusively with others across the organization.Proven track record of working autonomously and independently to carry out duties, resolve issues, and use judgment, to determine when things should be escalated to leadership.A detailed, organized, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.Proven problem solver who can make clear-headed decisions while under pressure.
