THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for managing the companys recruiting, benefit administration, performance management, onboarding, and compliance initiatives. This position requires leadership characteristics, an understanding and application of state and local laws, and the ability to effectively communicate with numerous team members on various levels.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate with hiring managers on current and future job openings.
  • Proactively source qualified candidates through a variety of recruitment platforms.
  • Manage full cycle recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding processes.
  • Prepare and maintain employment records, pay changes, promotions, terminations, and other employment activities.
  • Support and administer recognition programs and oversee progressive discipline process for hourly employees.
  • Manage the hourly performance evaluation process.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations inquiries, determining proper channel for resolution, interpreting policy, and advocating for team members.
  • Administer and manage FMLA.
  • Monitor employee eligibility for benefits plans. Review benefits with employees and process enrollment, cancellation, or changes. Assist with annual open enrollment communications and election process.
  • Work closely with management and employees to build employee engagement and relations to improve productivity and retention.

The Person

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in human resources or related field preferred; plus 3-5 years of HR experience. Relevant HR work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Human Resources certification preferred (CP, SCP, PHR or SPHR).
  • Strong recruitment background.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and payroll programs.
  • Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills are important as well as attention to detail and an ability to multitask and see work through to conclusion.
  • Experience in a production environment a plus.
