Director of College and Career Readiness
Summary
Lead the College and Career Readiness program at Kairos Academies in St. Louis, shaping pathways for student success. Manage staff, coordinate events, develop curriculum, and oversee testing coordination. Build partnerships, provide student counseling, and ensure program effectiveness. Ideal candidate has a master's degree, 3+ years of related leadership experience, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement a strategic vision for post-secondary education and career readiness, including SAT and ACT administration, test coordinating, mentoring, credit recovery, and collaboration with St. Louis Community College.
Program Development and Implementation:
Design, implement, and oversee programs that prepare students for post-secondary education, vocational training, and successful entry into the workforce, including coordination of PSAT, SAT, PACT, and ACT testing.
Conduct college and career fairs, local and national college visits.
Test Coordinating:
Serve as the primary point of contact for test coordinating activities, managing logistics, scheduling, and communication related to standardized testing.
Oversee the planning and administration of NWEA, MAP/EOC, ASVAB, AP, PSAT, SAT, PACT, and ACT tests, ensuring compliance with testing protocols and regulations.
Coordinate with testing agencies, faculty, and staff to create a conducive testing environment.
Train staff on updated NWEA, MAP/EOC, ASVAB, AP, PSAT, SAT, PACT, and ACT testing expectations and procedures.
Develop preparation schedule and plan for PSAT, SAT, PACT, and ACT testing.
Management:
Management of College and Career Readiness Coordinator, Next Prep teachers, freshman experience teachers, and College Advisor (Year 2).
Manage and coach teachers to implement college and career-focused mentoring during advisory periods.
Conduct weekly observations of mentoring sessions, providing documented feedback to teachers for continuous improvement.
St. Louis Community College Liaison:
Establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with St. Louis Community College, fostering articulation agreements, credit transfer processes, and joint programs.
Work closely with St. Louis Community College to enhance pathways for students transitioning from our institution.
Coordinate attendance, grade tracking, and course counseling for dual enrollment programs.
Partnership Building:
Establish and maintain partnerships with Next Prep, post-secondary institutions, industry leaders, employers, and community organizations to create opportunities for student internships, mentorships, and experiential learning.
Student Support and Counseling:
Provide guidance and counseling services to students, assisting them in identifying and pursuing post-secondary education and career goals, including navigating standardized testing requirements.
Conduct career inventory assessments.
Co-create post-secondary plans for NDL students, including Pre-ETS/Vocational Rehabilitation services.
Develop a system for credit recovery.
Data Analysis and Assessment:
Collect and analyze data related to student outcomes, program effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction, with specific attention to the impact of standardized testing and mentoring programs.
Professional Development:
Provide professional development for administrators, teachers, and counselors on career awareness, career preparation, and academic integration.

Competence in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use a variety of computer applications and platforms. Ability to use basic office equipment. Knowledge and experience in using a computer-based student Information Management system.
Safety Duties & Responsibilities

Qualities of an Ideal Candidate:
Master’s degree in education, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or a related field. Doctorate preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in educational leadership, career counseling, or a related field.
Strong understanding of post-secondary education trends, workforce development, and career pathways.
Proven track record of successful program development and implementation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Starting Salary: $70,000 based on experience. T

Schedule:
In-person teaching Monday through Friday 7:30am 4:00pm
Some weekends and evenings will be required.
Ability to commute/relocate:
Saint Louis, MO 63118: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required). Please note, this is not a remote position. All Kairos teachers are required to deliver in-person instruction onsite, in our school in St. Louis.
