Summary
The College and Career Coordinator will serve as a key resource to help provide counseling, character education, career/college planning and guidance for students and families. The Coordinator helps students attain an optimum level of personal and social adjustment by collaborating closely with the other staff and Administration. The Coordinator will provide resources for students for college/career planning including, but not limited to testing, scholarship information, college materials, essay applications and financial aid options; offer insight and guidance for determining spiritual gifts of students and equipping them with information on how to develop and use those gifts in their vocational future.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Monitoring
- Ensure all students are on-track to graduate from high school by implementing credit recovery programs, tutoring, academic progress monitoring, and interventions to address barriers to academic success.
- Maintain an academic data tracking system for awarded high school credits, dual enrollment credits, credit recovery, and remediation to be reported each cycle.
- Ensure accurate progress reports are sent out to parents each cycle.
Counseling Support
- Familiarize yourself with the school’s master class schedule and ensure all students are enrolled in appropriate classes for their respective pathways.
- Assist students and parents in mapping their postsecondary pathway roadmaps, including but not limited to college planning.
- Assist students and parents with applying for Financial Aid and Scholarships
Next Prep
- Participate in weekly check-ins with the manager and Next Prep Program Director.
- Collaborate with the Next Prep Program Director to coordinate and attend career exploration site visits for all students, including off-campus career exploration workshops, employer site visits, job shadowing, and more.
- Coordinate and analyze data from Personal Advisory Board meetings three times per cycle in collaboration with the Next Prep Program Director.
- Collaborate with and support the Next Prep Program Director for the annual Next Prep Graduation.
Cycle 7 Special Programs:
- Facilitate Cycle 7 programming for all students who do not need credit remediation, including sourcing and showcasing programs to students, communication with families and coaches, tracking and supporting with applications, and problem-solving around transportation, scheduling challenges, and other concerns.
Other Job Functions:
- Test coordinating support

- Other duties as assigned by Director of College and Career Readiness

Matriculation and College Acceptance
- 100% of graduates are accepted to a College/University or obtain livable wage careers
- 50% of students accepted to Tier I/II College/University
- Students have a high level of satisfaction with their career and/or education pathway
- Students earn a family sustaining wage (MIT calculator) or are on track to do so within 6 years of high school graduation
Student Achievement
- 90% students passing all classes (On track to graduate)
Student Engagement
- 95% of students attend field lessons (career exploration workshops, site visits, and job shadowing)
- 100% students complete community service hours

Technology Skills
Competence in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use a variety of computer applications and platforms. Ability to use basic office equipment. Knowledge and experience in using a computer-based student Information Management system.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree Required
- Masters degree Preferred
- Missouri Substitute Certification Required
- Prior experience with a high school career exploration program
- Prior experience with a college promotion and financial aid assistance program
- Prior experience with the Missouri High School Graduation requirements
- Effective communication skills requiring frequent contact with the public
- Experience working with grant funded programs
- Skill in computer operations and use of programs involving word processing, Excel, Power Point, etc.
- Energetic and self directed
- Proficient organizational skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff and students
- Attention to detail and follow through
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization.
- Satisfactory completion of criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable.

Schedule:
- In-person teaching Monday through Friday 7:30am 4:00pm
- Some weekends and evenings will be required.

- Saint Louis, MO 63118: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required). Please note, this is not a remote position. All Kairos teachers are required to deliver in-person instruction onsite, in our school in St. Louis.
