Miscellaneous Professional (Part-Time Medical Reserve Corps Specialist)

Job Description:

Serve as a member of the Emergency Human Services (EHS) unit focused on building the capacity of local Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Units throughout the state.

The following duties are part of this responsibility:
  • Assist in the collection and compilation of MRC volunteer and unit standards.
  • Assist in the development & implementation of the MRC Training Summit in collaboration with MRC units, increase utilization of Missouri's Show Me-Response and MRC Leadership Network Online Platforms.
  • Support recruitment efforts of volunteers for MRCs and Show-Me Response both in person at events and through outreach efforts.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with representatives from MRCs and partner organizations.
  • Coordinate funding to the MRC Units including monitoring and tracking progress of grant projects by maintaining regular contact with project administrators and maintaining progress logs, status reports, and compliance records.
  • Attend meetings in assigned regions (in person or virtually), representing the MRC Program and its activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and complete complex assignments.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, public officials, and the general public.

  • Ability to make public presentations and provide training as needed.
  • Knowledge of contracts, grants and fiscal documents a plus.
The position involves travel within the state, with some overnight travel possible, and occasional travel between 5 -20% of the time. The position will be supervised by the State Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator.

Work Schedule: 20 hours a week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with flexibility in completing the 20 hours of work. Travel days may dictate start and end times.
