Buyer Pay Range: $39.20-$42.22 hourly
Buyer: 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a Buyer for a 3+ month contract opportunity with our customer.
The Buyer job responsibilities:
Manages the competitive bidding process, which includes, but is not limited to: prepares and reviews bids and Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, receives and evaluates proposals, ensures process is in line with guidelines and procurement rules.
Drafts, administers, and manages agency contracts, and ensures compliance with insurance requirements.
Purchases supplies, equipment, and facilities contract services; reviews and approves requisitions and issues purchase orders; and prepares and obtains quotes from vendors.
Creates Purchase Orders (POs) in eRequester and provides guidance to internal customers on setting up purchase requests in the system.
The Buyer job requirements:
Previous experience as a Buyer / Purchaser in a Government setting (e.g., City, County, School District, Utility, Special District, etc.)
Three years of increasingly responsible purchasing experience, preferably for a public utility.
Education: An Associate's degree or higher is highly desirable.
Valid Class C driver’s license
Experiences using MS Office Suites
Experience managing competitive bidding processes
Experience preparing and administering Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
Experience managing an contracts
Good attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication
Excellent customer service
