Vaco Boston has partnered with our client that is seeking a Staff Accountant. This position will be responsible for a wide range of general accounting duties related to the Company's fiscal month end closing.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of information related to the monthly closing process, monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
  • Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and schedules.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations for assigned accounts; research and analyze findings to ensure accuracy; document/demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the balance as well as the fluctuation changes.
  • Analyze Company financials for completeness, reasonableness and fluctuation explanations.
  • Research and respond to information requests from various Corporate departments and personnel.
  • Interact with independent external auditors regarding quarterly reviews and the annual financial audit to ensure timely delivery of information and completion of work.
  • Complete other ad hoc requests as requested

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting
  • 1-2+ years of industry or public accounting experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy of work

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
